Mary Judith "Judy" Kressbach Alban of Okemos, Michigan died Friday, May 12 at the age of 85 after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Jackson, Michigan in 1932, Judy grew up in Jackson and Concord before graduating from Stevens College in Columbia, Missouri. She lived in East Lansing and operated her own custom sewing business. Judy was also a talented weaver, selling her art at the East Lansing Art Fair for many years. At the age of 50 she went to work at Michigan State University, retiring from her job as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Public Relations in 1997.
Judy was an avid gardener and spent many hours in her extensive gardens. She also loved travel, and for many years drove to the American Southwest to visit the desert lands she loved so much, along with her good dog Duffy. The Lake Michigan shoreline was another favorite destination. She was an artist, creating unique quilts, weavings and paintings, often based on her travels.

She is survived by her three daughters, Amy Severson (Jim), Mary Alban, and Jennifer Alban, and her grandchildren Erik and Jenna Severson, and Ellie and Allison Ayers. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl Kressbach and Lucille Browning Kressbach, as well as brother Michael and sister Libby.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery, 2600 E. Mount Hope Avenue, Lansing.

Her family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, aids and many others that helped her through her illness.

The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing. On-line condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.greastlansing.com.
